How to distinguish between hot rolled steel tube and cold rolled steel tube

Hot rolled steel tube and cold rolled steel pipe are all forming processes of section steel or steel plate. They have a great influence on the structure and performance of steel. The main rolling of steel is hot rolling, and cold rolling is only used for consumption of small size steel and thin plate.

 

1. Hot rolling

Hot rolling is compared to cold rolling. Cold rolling is rolled under the recrystallization temperature, and hot rolling is done over the recrystallization temperature. It can destroy the casting structure of steel ingots, refine the grain of steel and eliminate the defects of microstructure, so that the steel structure is compact and the mechanical properties are improved. This improvement is mainly along the rolling direction, so that steel at a certain level is no longer isotropic; pouring during the formation of bubbles, cracks and loose, can also be welded under high temperature and pressure.

 

2. Cold rolling

Cold rolling refers to the process of cold drawing, cold bending, cold drawing and other cold processes to process steel plates or steel strips into various types of steel at normal temperature. Advantages: fast forming, high yield, and no damage to the coating. It can make various ways to meet the requirements of application conditions. Cold rolling can make the steel produce great plastic deformation, thus improving the compliance point of steel.

Compared with hot rolled tube, there is no cracks, no scratches, no grooves on the surface of cold rolled steel tube.
